A great deal can be said about a person that gives their valuable time and energy in service to other people. Volunteering is about helping those who have been through struggles, helping those that can’t help themselves and it comes from the heart. Amanda Bonura of Amite, Louisiana, has one of the most compassionate and caring hearts around. She began her volunteering journey at American Red Cross in 2014 and later began working with New Life Missions Outreach in 2016. She has since been named Assistant Director of missions with New Life. Amanda, her husband Joshua, and their two kids have a family motto, “We are blessed to be able to bless others.” Her family is also very active in these volunteer projects and they try to give back to their community by helping with emergency needs and through the power of prayer. Her 15-year-old daughter, Destanie, enjoys volunteering at the distribution center and helping to package items for individuals in need while her 12-year-old son, Josh, enjoys volunteering at the warehouse to help package and ship items needed for disaster relief around the world.
